This is a picture of St. Seraphim preparing to be bludgeoned with the handle of an axe by thieves. He was beaten mercilessly, close to death, and yet he did not lift one finger as this brutal beating took place. He acted in the exact manner of Our Lord. St. Seraphim, wonderworker of Sarov, pray to God for us!
